Besides the graves the visitor may go to the caves at Soetji, some five miles from Grissee where edible swallow nests are found.
There is another excur-s on to be made i'rom Sourabaya namely the one by steamer to the island of Madoera, however Madoera does not offer anything, of interest to the average tourist and therefor this excursion can just as well be left.

Is the capital of the Residency of the same name and a fairly large town, situated on lie banks of the Brantas river. It has a population of some 40200 of which 570 are Europeans and is one of the centres of sugar factories. The town itself does not offer anything of interest, but in the near neighbourhood some remains of Hindu temples are found.
A small place on the line and the seat of an Assistant-Resident. The town itself has nothing worth speaking of but from here trips may be
made to a beautiful grotto at Sripit some 19 miles from there and to Poppoh on the South coast which is a much frequented bathing place, whilst the ride to there offers some beautiful views on the Bay of Poppoh. The distance from Toeloeng Agoeng to Poppoh is some 18 miles. At Poppoh a resthouse is found.
Like Toeloeng Agoeng, a small place and the seat of and Assistant-Resident. It is from here that an excursion may be made to Panataran, the ruins of a Hindu temple second in size to the Boro-budur, which may be reached either by trap or motor car. From Blitar it is possible to make an ascent of Mount Keloet, which recently had such a disastrous eruption, as however the road to the crater is destroyed by the last eruption one has to take a guide along from Blitar.
The road leads via the ruins at Panataran.
