Bandoeng. BOTANICAL GARDEN 27. Boute. 397
In its neighbourhood is an avenue of Royal palms. Passing through this avenue and coming out once more on the canarian avenue, one will see cannonball trees (so called because their fruit resembles cannon balls), growing in Section XIV C, near the Governor-General's stable.
The bamboo forest is a large one, extending along the bank of the Tjibalok, across which is a bridge. Crossing this bridge, one reaches the entrance of the second garden. From Section XIII A southward along the main road are extensive collections of palms. Soon one comes to the rose garden, in which stands the monument to Teysmann, the founder of the ' 1 Iortus Bogoriensis.' Passing by this garden, one finds oneself once more in the palm garden. In
A Thick Clump of Bamboos, Buitknzorg.
